The death of renowned atheist
Christopher Hitchens has me thinking about death—of what we'll

I often get emails from those who read my blog with parenting questions. I'm no expert, but I've dealt with quite a few issues in my 22 years of being a mom. Recently I received and email that was facing a very difficult situation with her teen son and she was certain their relationship was broken forever. I thought my note to her might encourage you, too:

The seven Mornings with Jesus writers reflect on their relationship with Jesus—how it grew and changed as they delved into Scripture and wrote the devotions for the book—and what they learned about Him.

Many of the Mornings with Jesus writers felt connected to the Old Testament as they researched passages for their devotions.

Ephesians 6:13
Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon.
