I had the great privilege of sitting under Deb's expert tutelage in the Early Bird Session at the recent ACFW Conference in Dallas. What a gracious lady Deb is! She reminded me of the lovely "girl-next-door"--the essence of American beauty, purity, and femininity. I am so thankful to our Lord for having allowed our paths to cross.

God created me with a passion for the written and printed word, so I've always adored reading and writing; only recently did I begin writing for publication. One book that I came across several years ago, because I used to try to read many of the books on my kids' high school reading lists, was Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom. Not Christian, not correct theology. But the storytelling style and the little man, Morrie, the dying professor, teaching his former student the last class ever--how to die--transformed me. At the time I read it, my feisty little mother-in-law's health was declining rapidly, giving the story even greater impact. This book uplifted me, brought me to tears, and enhanced my "joie de vivre." I will never look at life or death in the same way, and the book is one that lives always on my shelves to be reread and reread again.

Tricia...so I've been thinking about Arms of Deliverance --that story has really stuck with me. And I have to tell you that I want MORE!! Ever thought about writing a "sequel" of sorts telling Samuel's story? I just had to ask...

And I just have to throw this out there -- I WANT MY OWN EDDIE!! Such a sweetheart. :)

Donna, Granddaddy's prayer was simply "Bless us, oh Lord, for these, thy gifts, which we are about to receive. In Christ's name we pray. Amen." But he said it with such sincerity, as though God were actually sitting at the table with us. And his voice was deep, resonant, and very memorable.
