One cool thing I discovered is groups using Pinterest as a community bulletin board. Members of a group work as contributors to post items on a board. And then other members--any readers!--can comment on the pins and open up a conversation.
Here is the description--which is our invitation to readers/new friends!
Imagine us gathered around a cafe table with mugs of coffee or tea. We're sharing life and learning together--isn't that what a becoming a better mom is all about? This board is a place to pin (and chat about) things that matter...or maybe just things that make us laugh or sit up and say, "Cool!" So pull up a chair and enjoy. We're eager to see (and hear) what's important to you!
I love this board. There are so many great pins. Here are a few of favorite things on that board from the last week:

Trisha, that's wonderful! How did you create a community board? I adore Pinterest and it's ability to compactly communicate. Please stop by and see my boards www.pinterest.com/paulawhidden
I've really enjoyed the pinterest board Tricia (tons of GREAT ideas and encouragement)...thanks for making it for us! It has also been a fun way to get to know the other Better Mom writers a bit more...
Love,
K
For each board you create there is an "edit" button. Click "Add Contributors" and you can add your friends! The board will show you on YOUR profile and theirs, too. And they can pin to it just like you!
What a neat idea. I'll have to visit. :)
I love your inspirational Pins. I just started using Pinterst and I am addicted.
