Benjamin Franklin (1706-90), U.S. statesman, writer. Epitaph on Himself, in Complete Works, vol. 10 (ed. by John Bigelow, 1887-88). Composed in 1728, when Franklin was 22, it was not used on Franklin’s monument.

I never read what Benjamin Franklin wrote for his epitaph at age 22. It makes sense, but I am glad it is not on his monument. Because I am a bit on the hypochondriac side, I always tell my husband to put "I told you I was sick!" Thanks,Cindi
